Born and raised in the Midwest, Cheri Hample holds a Master’s degree in Public Health and Social Work from the University of Minnesota. Over the course of her 45+ year career, she worked in health and human services and tribal health across Minnesota, North Dakota, South Dakota, and Alaska, before retiring in 2019.
A lifelong volunteer and advocate for social justice and peace, Cheri has served on multiple boards and supported numerous nonprofit organizations. After many years of volunteering with the Sitka Music Festival, she officially joined the team in 2022 as Administrative Assistant and Building Attendant.
In addition to her work with SMF, Cheri continues her commitment to community service as a part-time relief Advocate for Sitkans Against Family Violence (SAFV) and a volunteer with BraveHeart and the Sitka Fine Arts Camp.
