2020 EVENT UPDATES
In lieu of our traditional Sitka Festival this June, SMF Artistic Director Zuill Bailey curated a special collection of six virtual concerts featuring some of our favorite Festival guest artists, including Yuliya Gorenman, Benjamin Breen, and Natasha Paremski. Hundreds of viewers visited our website to see these wonderful concerts! Although these particular videos were available only for the month of June, we have many more “musical postcards” in our online collection – click here to enjoy a virtual concert today!
The Sitka International Cello Seminar has been restructured as an online learning opportunity for this summer. Master Teacher Melissa Kraut and International Artist Zuill Bailey will provide instruction and mentorship this month via Zoom and FaceTime to at least 15 young pre-professional cellists. Stay tuned to our social media and this website for dispatches from these talented young people during their unique seminar experience.
Our 10-year effort to remodel Stevenson Hall is ongoing, but nearing completion! Work has continued, albeit with some delays, and we expect to complete this $4.7 Million project this fall. Visit the Stevenson Hall page for photos and updates!
Final decisions have not yet been made about our Autumn Classics concert series in Anchorage; we will be providing updates through this page and our social media channels as plans develop.
Stay well, friends, and we look forward to seeing you soon!
Your generous support makes it possible for the Festival to connect Alaskans with great artists and bring amazing music to rural and urban areas of the state.
What makes the Festival complete is you – your presence, your interest, your passion. The Sitka Music Festival flourishes and returns year after year because of YOUR ongoing support, and we deeply appreciate your donation.
The Sitka Music Festival is a 501(c)3 not-for-profit arts organization, and all contributions are fully tax deductible to the extent allowed by law. Our Federal tax ID No is 92-0075160.
In addition to financial contributions, we also greatly appreciate donations of air miles, Alaska Airlines Companion Fares, restaurant gift certificates in Sitka or Anchorage, and volunteer help for our events. Call or email us if you’d like to learn more.
