2020 “VIRTUAL” MUSIC FESTIVAL
In lieu of our traditional Sitka Festival this June, SMF Artistic Director Zuill Bailey curated a special collection of six virtual concerts featuring some of our favorite Festival guest artists, including Yuliya Gorenman, Benjamin Breen, and Natasha Paremski.
Bach’s Lunch: Over the course of three concerts this month, Zuill performed the complete Bach’s Cello Suites. Violinist Benjamin Breen also appeared on June 18 with Bach’s Partita #3.
Saturday Evening Concerts included pianist Yuliya Gorenman performing several works from her home in Silver Spring MD, pianist Natasha Paremski performing Chopin and Ravel from her New York City apartment, and Paremski with Zuill Bailey with Chopin’s Sonata for Cello and Piano.
All of these special concerts will be available for viewing through July 5 on our virtual concert page!
We offer heartfelt appreciation and gratitude to our season sponsors: Alaska State Council on the Arts, National Endowment for the Arts, ALPS Federal Credit Union, Shee Atika Inc, Sitka Alaska Permanent Charitable Trust, and the Sitka Music Festival Foundation. Special thanks to Alaska Marine Lines and Arrowhead Transfer for sponsoring our drive-through crab feed sale!
And boundless thanks to individuals who sent donations this month to help keep us afloat!
Your generous support makes it possible for the Festival to connect Alaskans with great artists and bring amazing music to rural and urban areas of the state.
What makes the Festival complete is you – your presence, your interest, your passion. The Sitka Music Festival flourishes and returns year after year because of YOUR ongoing support, and we deeply appreciate your donation.
