Evening Concert – Great Scott!

Join for a special celebration of pianist/composer Scott Joplin, featuring New York City-based pianist Richard Dowling. Dowling’s 3-CD set, The Complete Piano Works of Scott Joplin, was nominated for a Grammy Award in 2018. Veteran ragtime pianist Max Morath says, “Richard Dowling’s mastery of the Joplin rags invokes a tenderness that charms us and a technical command that inspires our admiration.”

There will be an optional 30-minute pre-concert lecture and artist interview starting at 6:45.

The June 8 concert is the final event in our weekend of celebrating Beethoven and his string trios. Two of the trios will be performed at the Bach’s Lunch on Thursday, June 6, and the remainder at this Evening Concert. Purchase a weekend pass and join us for the brunch cruise on Saturday morning, where Kurt, Scott, and Zuill will discuss the whole series of trios and what we can learn about Beethoven’s evolution as a composer as he wrote them.

Brunch Cruise: Insights to the Beethoven String Trios

Jump on board an Allen Marine catamaran with violinist Kurt Nikkanen, violist Scott Rawls, and cellist Zuill Bailey. They will perform highlights from Beethoven’s string trios and discuss how they showcase Beethoven’s evolution as a composer. The full string trios will be performed during the Bach’s Lunch on June 6 and the Evening Concert on June 8. Purchase a weekend pass and experience the whole series!

Alaskan Crab Feed Picnic

Crescent Harbor Shelter

A feast of Dungeness Crab, salads, and desserts in a rustic Alaskan harbor setting. This picnic is a delight for the whole family! Plates and utensils are provided, but tables and seats are not. Some locals set up their own tables, but most folks choose to perch on the beams surrounding the shelter and dock. Dress for the weather and join us for this popular annual event.
